What's New in 1.1

- New goal descriptions (during briefings) and Global Groups
special thanks to Alex Butt for modifing the files for me
Me being too lazy to do it myself :-)

I don't think v1.1 will be compatible with v1.0, you should tell
your buddies to get v1.1.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Welcome to my first attempt at creating X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter
missions!

This one is named Aftermath at Endor and is, in the starwars
timeline, just after the fireworks at Endor and also just after
Zaarin blows himself up (in Enemies of the Empire). The storyline
is simple: The Death Star is destroyed, and most of the Imperial
forces in the area have surrendered. But a few remaining Imperials
still refuse to surrender, and are fighting to retain control over
the sector. Grand Admiral Thrawn, who is unaware of the death of
Lord Vader or the Empeor, is on his way to "celebrate" the victory
over the Rebellion.

In this one you can play either the Rebel Alliance / New Republic
forces or the Imperials. I've tried to create missions that are
interconnected so if you want the real experience play them in the
correct order.

Installation
Step 1: Unzip this archive into your XwingTie directory (or equivalent)
to create subdirectories (check "Use subfolders" in WinZip or
use -d on pkzip for DOS)
Step 2: Add the following text to the following files
         OR
RUN your XvT:Outbound Flight Quick Installer by draggin this
file onto the XvTOFQI shortcut in your XwingTie directory
  (XvTOFQI is available from the
Outbound Flight Project see link below)

NOTE: When you play the battle "Aftermath at Endor", make sure you
select "4 wins". Since the missions are interlinked, do not
randomize the missions (if you do you will get chronological errors).

NOTE: The numbers used have been registered with the Outbound Flight Project
www.jedialliance.com/outbound/ Please keep these numbers to facilitate
internet, network and modem play using these custom missions. Also if
you make new missions register them with the OFP!

You should be right about done. If you have problems installing the
missions, try again. Since this is free I won't give much (any)
support for it, but comments are appreciated.

- About mission 7

Mission 7 (7.TIE) was designed to be a massive fleet vs. fleet
battle. Although it did work fine in single player when it comes
to multi-player action massive fleets tend to drain the speed of
the game a lot. Two things you can do:

1: Tone down the details to very low (and 320x200). I don't care
if you have a P166, I have that too, and 320x200 is barely
     playable with that mission.

2: Use the alternate 7L.TIE (Mission 7 light). In this version of
the final mission, the fleet will arrive 1 ship every 2 minutes
instead of all at once. That way it gives you a little room
to blow some of those cap ships before others arrive.

To all Star Wars officianados:
I have made no research to make these missions, so it is possible
that the missions in this battle do not fit at all with the "after
  ROTJ" storyline. My apologies.

Where to get more missions:

Be sure to go to the Outbound Flight Project, OFP is devoted to making
flying XvT custom mission online easier by registering the mission's
.lst numbers and providing the Outbound Flight Project Quick Installer
XvTOFQI installs XvT Missions in seconds.

Try the X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter file zone : zone.simplenet.com. This is
the place all my new missions will be uploaded first and is a very good
source of XvT missions! Check it out!

BTW all names used in the game, ship design and pretty much everything
but the mission design itself is (C) Lucasfilm. The missions themselves
are (C) 1997 Christian Boutin. You do not have any right to put these
missions on any compilation CD-ROM unless you have my written permission
first. (And you most likely need that of Lucasarts too).

My next scenario : Escort the Cartagar! An epic Imperial-only space
adventure featuring more than 7 missions, a detailed storyline, full
speech and briefing. Plus lots of action too! Check the XvT file zone
for it in september!
